Valentine’s Day is coming up, and us single ladies are about to get more aware that we are single than ever before. Even if you love being single (like me), your gonna feel a little left out this holiday season. That’s why I am here to tell you how to have Valentine’s Day when you’re single.
Here are a few things to do on this holiday, and I included step by step instructions to have a at home spa day!
Bring yourself on a date
Who says you need someone else to go on a date? You have to love yourself first right? This is why I love to go on a me date to Starbucks or Panera Bread and just soak in my accomplishments. We are all moving so fast through life, and sometimes we just need to pat ourselves on the back. Breakfast dates are my favorite because you get a good sense of life right when you wake up in the morning.
Have a movie night
Whether you actually go the movies, or just stay at home and watch a few good romantic flicks on Netflix, having a movie night is so fun! I love mixing buttery popcorn with milk duds and having a yummy cocktail! Another movie night favorite is drizzling white chocolate on popcorn with some sprinkles!
Or you can go the dip route and make a good cheese dip or some guacamole! Either way, make some snacks and put on a movie and escape!
Go to the spa (or have a home spa day)
Going to the spa is the ultimate way to feel relaxed, but I totally get if it’s not in your price range. If not, plan a nice spa day at home. First, prepare a cucumber sandwich with some strawberries and infuse some water with lemon and mint for your ‘spa lunch’. Keep this ready in the fridge for lunch time! I also keep the tea kettle going, so I can drink lots of my favorite teas.
I like to start by putting a homemade hair mask (made with argan oil and coconut oil) on my hair and putting a hair net over it. I then cover my feet in vaseline and put plastic bags over them (think make-shift socks) to soften up my feet. I leave these on for about an hour and meditate on my porch.
Afterwards, I apply my favorite mask and take a hot bath with Dr. Teals Epsom salts and foaming bath. I like to light a candle to keep with the mood and bring in my hot tea! I wash my hair, exfoliate, shave and soak.
After getting out of the bath, I wash my face off and add a serum and brush through my hair. After drying, I add a coat of nail polish on my toes and fingernails and let dry.
After I have my spa lunch, I go ahead and apply my self-tanner. This is the last part of my spa day, and I feel fantastic!
Get some nature
Another great way to spend your Valentine’s Day is a nature hike! Getting fresh air is so good for you, and not only will you be exercising, you will be getting a piece of mind.
I love exploring new places, and I get to bring my dog along, whom I love! We both have a lot of fun, and it’s just a nice way to spend the day. I love soaking in how beautiful nature is (as long as there are no snakes).
Treat yourself
If you are short on time, just treat yourself to something nice! Buy the shoes you have been salivating over or get that foundation that’s a little steep. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend, go buy a pint of Ben and Jerry’s or get your favorite cheesecake. Just get yourself something that brings you joy!
I hope this leads to a great Valentine’s Day! Let me know if you end up doing any of these things!
XOXO

This year I’m planning to do a little retail therapy to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Who needs men anyway? Great post!
