I have always been a sufferer of cracked, peeling and chapped lips. It wasn’t until two years ago that I could wear lip product on a daily basis. Half of the time not only would my lip product highlight my lip woes, but it would actually hurt the peeling part of my lips.
I always carried around chapstick, and I tried so many different kinds trying to fix my problems.
Here are the three things I changed in order to get my lips in shape:
Water
I started drinking a ton of water. Hydrating your body not only means applying creams and serum, but adding moisture to your insides. I really noticed a difference after a week, and this also helped my overall dry skin issues.
Lip Scrubs
I am going to be honest, applying lip scrubs hurt a lot at first! But it sped up the peeling process, and in combination with the next thing I am going to talk about, my lips were cured in 2 weeks. I use the Mint Juleps from Lush, and I also have used the lip exfoliator from e.l.f. My sister swears by making her own with castor oil, coconut oil and sugar.
Lip ‘Masks’
I have never purchased a product that was actually labelled ‘lip mask’, but I have used products that I feel deeply nourish my lips. I started out by using vaseline on my lips at night. This worked very well because it would have been two thick to wear throughout the day, and during the night, it was busy hydrating.
I have recently moved to using the Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm. I put this on in the morning when I am doing my skincare. I go through my breakfast and such, and then when I get ready to put on my makeup, I just wipe of the excess. I also apply it at night the same way.
Those are my three favorites ways to keep my lips ready for product! What do you do to keep your lips moisturized in the winter?

Nice! I have never heard of lip masks before! I recently started using a lip scrub by Lush that is a life saver as well as the new vaseline lip balm which is awesome!

Chapped lips are so frustrating to deal with! I’ve just recently started using a scrub from Lush 🙂

Cherish.
I was really hoping the lip scrub from Lush would “bring it” but it didn’t, for me. It was too dry (and it DID hurt!). However, I love “Makeup by Mer” (you can find her on insta). Her stuff is vegan, too and AWESOMELY moisturizing for a lip scrub. (I think they’re the same price as lush, too!)
