This month I was lucky enough to be sent a ItWorks Exfoliating Peel to try out and review for you guys! I am sure if you are Instagram active, you will have seen the ItWorks products all over your feed. This was the first ItWorks item I have tried, and here are my thoughts:
SCENT/TEXTURE:
The first thing I noticed about the ItWorks Exfoliating Peel was how good it smelled! It has a very fresh citrus scent, and it was really refreshing. The texture was gel-like, but a little more watered down. You could tell it also had exfoliating beads within the formula.
PACKAGING:
The packaging was very airtight, and it looks really luxurious on my vanity! Everything was easy to use. The product is dispensed through a dropper. In order to get product into the dropper, press down on the button on the top of the packaging, and ta-dah, you have your product!
INTITAL EFFECTS:
The first thing I noticed is the peel doesn’t harden like most peels I have used. The product stays gel-like throughout the whole time. When I washed it off with cool water, I rubbed the gel and beads into my skin to add to the exfoliating effect. BE SURE TO READ THIS: After the product is off your face, you may notice some redness, do not freak out, it goes away! Luckily, Courtney had warned me of this, so I was prepared, but your face does get really red!
OVERALL EFFECTS:
I have used this product three times in the last week. To preface, I have very dry skin. The first day, I had a lot of dry patches on my forehead. I used the product again, and the dry patches were gone. Plus, my skin felt baby smooth, and my foundation sinked into my skin. I used it again, and the same results.
I recommend using an oil after the peel. I used my Josie Maran Argan Oil, and it just added to the softness to my skin! You could also use basic coconut oil.
If you are interested in checking out this product or any other ItWork’s products, be sure to check out Courtney Kelly’s shop page and Instagram page.
