Even as a beauty blogger, there are days where I slack off my routine or jump off the wagon all together. Sometimes I am too tired to go through my 10-step night time skincare routine or use all my special hair products to make my hair flawless.
Beauty takes time, and sometimes you just don’t have it. This is why I add basic, easy things to my routine that make it easier to slack off.
Here are my 5 steps to boost your everyday beauty routine:
Put your Beauty Products in Containers
This sounds so dumb, but decanting some of my beauty products really inspires me. It makes my vanity look clean and fresh, and it makes me feel like a delicate bird. I know, I sound ridiculous, but trust me.
I keep my cotton balls, cotton swabs, and face pads in separate glass containers, and I do the same for my bubble bath and Epsom salts.
I also use a soap dispenser and a lotion dispenser.
Switch to Dove Advanced Care Deodorant
Two years ago, I switched to Dove Advanced Care Deodorant, and I have never looked back.
The deodorant offers 48 hours of odor and wetness protection, plus it has added skincare benefits. The NutriumMoisture in the deodorant creates softer, smoother underarms.
I can feel confident in tank tops because I know that my underarms are smooth. That feels weird to say – but we all know how self-conscious we can become when are underarms are not on point.
Dove Advanced Care Deodorant takes all the worry armpit embarrassment – it is so worth it!
Plus, there are plenty of light, great scents to choose from – and no scent if that is more your style!
Keep Petroleum Jelly on Hand
Petroleum Jelly is like beauty magic sauce.
First – put it on your lips before you go to bed and wake up to nice moisturized lips, ready for a matter lip.
Second – cover your feet in petroleum jelly and then cover them in plastic bags for 30 minutes. When you take the bags off, you are left with soft feet! Plus, you can go about your chores with the bags on.
Third – Put Petroleum Jelly on your knees and elbows before applying self-tanner! It prevents orange spots.
Fourth – This is oddly specific, but I recently had a cracked nose from blowing my nose because of a cold. Two nights with petroleum jelly covering my nose, and the cracks were gone.
There are a ton more uses, but these are the ones that I do!
Incorporate More Oils into Your Beauty Routine
If Petroleum Jelly is beauty magic sauce, oils are beauty water. I use Argan oil, Coconut oil and Olive oil.
First – Use Argan oil as a cuticle oil
Second – Use a light amount of olive oil to the ends of your hair before styling
Third – Use coconut oil to remove eye makeup
Fourth – Use Argan oil as a face moisturizer or face primer
This list can literally go on forever, but you get the point. Keeping oil nearby solves so many problems.
Use a Humidifier
As someone who has dry skin, my humidifier saves my life. I add a few drops of lavender oil, turn it on while I sleep, and wake up to plump, pretty skin!
Bonus, it is also really great if your stopped up or have a sinus headache.
What do you do to make your beauty routine more functional?

I just bought a bottle of argan oil and I’m going to use it in some of the ways you mentioned! Thanks for the post!
