Christmas is right around the corner, and I decorated for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving!
I made two wreaths this year (click here to see my farmhouse wreath), and both were made with the same wreath bases I used as a kid!
This Christmas wreath tutorial is made with a twig base, and I wanted it to be big and bright to showcase on my door!
I usually gravitate towards a lumberjacks/woodsy Christmas, so I naturally was drawn to more red and white fake flowers when I visited Michaels.
THE WREATH
I bought some red hydrangeas, pre-made fir, pine cone and cranberry mix, white twigs, cranberries and some ribbon.
I put together the entire thing with E600 glue and a hot glue gun. It is hard to put things together with a twig base because you really have to press down to make sure the items are stuck to the wreath, but I really loved how it came out!
I started by putting the two pre-made greenery pieces on the wreath. I used a wire hanger to secure the ends of the pieces and a hot glue gun to secure the greenery section.
Afterwards, I added the white twigs. I tried to arrange these were they would be spread out.
If you need to trim the twigs down, feel free to do so. I wanted mine to be more whimsical.
Then, I added a bow I made with burlap ribbon and the two red hydrangeas.
Finally, I filled in the holes with some extra cranberry pieces.
If you have another theme in your home, you can always cater the wreath colors to match that for Christmas!
I am so proud of how both of my wreaths came out! They look great with the rest of my Christmas decor, and this one only took 30 minutes to make.
It also only cost about $20 to make – compared to some that are $150.
What is your favorite Christmas theme?

Very pretty wreath. Love the added touch of the white branches.
