This year will be my fourth year of blogging! Holy cow, how does time fly by?
When I first started blogging, to say I had no idea what I was doing is an understatement. Actually, to say I have any idea of what I am doing now could also be an understatement.
However, throughout my journey, I have found a few resources or business tools that have changed my blogging game. These tools look more into the business side of blogging and not the creative side.
I have always struggled with the business aspects of blogging because I am mainly just a creative person. I am good at creating and thinking things – not so much being financially organized.
These five business tools that I am about to share make everything a little easier for me!
Quickbooks – Self Employed
I started Quickbooks this year – and it is a game changer. This tool organizes your finances, and it can keep track of your mileage. I download the app onto my phone, and I just record all of my trips as I am making them!
You can also upload receipts to your account, so you can access them anywhere!
Plus, you can use this link to get 50 percent off!
Google Analytics/AdSense
If you are not using Google Analytics and AdSense you are missing out!
One of the key things I realized this year was that sidebar ads are not enough if you really want to make money with AdSense. You need to make sure you are embedding ad codes in all of your articles!
And with Analytics, I keep a spreadsheet with my monthly pageviews and goals!
Evernote
Evernote has been a godsend for communicating between me and my assistant. You are able to create notebooks, so I am able to create one for every month and plan content!
I also can create a notebook for all of 2018, and I can share them with my assistant – and we can chat!
Tiny Scanner
I am constantly having to sign contracts and send them back to my clients. The best thing to have for this is Tiny Scanner! You can print something off, scan it by taking a photo on your phone and then email it back!
Plus you have a copy on your phone for your files and easy access.
Buffer
Creating social media posts can be considered content, but I think they are really just marketing! Buffer allows you to connect all of you social media accounts and schedule posts throughout the day!
I have used a ton of social scheduling tools, but this one is the cleanest and easiest to use!
