After changing my life with the iPhone 8 Plus, I realized I needed to upgrade my photo editing game too. I have always been a huge VSCO fan, but I started playing with a few more photo editing apps that have changed how I edit all of my photos.
I have really been trying to focus on photography – even though it is so hard to take photos of myself that are professional quality. Using these apps, I have been able to really create great images on the fly without needing my laptop!
Here are just a few recents from my Instagram:
To create these photos, I used 4-5 different for with all different purposes.
The last one is just a bonus for specific types of projects!
LIGHTROOM
If you only have one photo editing app on your phone, this is the one for you.
You will need to have a creative suite for this, and if you are a blogger, this is really something you need to invest it. Plus, $10 a month really doesn’t break the back if you really are passionate about blogging.
I use Lightroom to alter the white balance, color balance, experiment with color values, reduce vibrancy and add clarity. In my opinion, this app does the most change without ruining the photos.
SNAPSEED
Snapseed has a ton of tools you should try – but the most useful is their selective tool.
If I ever take a photo that has a weird shadow or an odd light, I can use the selective tool to adjust the brightness.
After editing a photo in Lightroom, I throw it in here and fix any dark spots. I also like to use this to lighten up the food in any food Instagram photos.
FACETUNE 2
This one is a little controversial because it can be used a way that isn’t good for your personal body image. However, I love the conceal tool for hiding bumps and rough spots in my flat lays on the fly.
I also use the detail tool to highlight my outfit or my focal spot of the picture.
VCSO
VSCO is the most commonly used app, and I even have bought the Lightroom presets because I love it so much.
I always use A5 and A6, and adjust it to match my Instagram theme. However, there are tons of presets to play with!
COLLEGABLE
The last one is a bonus if you even need to make a collage! I only do this once a year on Instagram, and every once in a while I need it for my blog.
It is a great collage tool to keep handy if you ever need it!
