When I first started blogging, I always posted a Mediterranean Monday recipe, and I loved making gyros! Ever since my promotion, it has been a lot harder to sit down and make meals.
When I discovered this recipe for crockpot beef gyros, my life changed! They are so tasty – and I just buy store bought Tzatziki sauce (so easy).
I could literally eat these all week long, and it is so great to get home and dinner already be ready!
Ingredients
3 lbs sirloin steak (cut into strips)
1 onion sliced
5 cloves garlic
1/2 c. beef broth
1/4 c. olive oil
4 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp pepper
Pita bread
Lettuce and cucumbers for topping
Tzatziki sauce (we bought store bought)
Directions
1. Spray crockpot with cooking spray. Pour beef broth and turn heat to medium.
2. Put steak and onions into the crockpot.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pour mixture on top of the steak. Place the lid on top and cook on medium for 5-6 hours, or on high for 3-4.
4. When finished cooking, place desired meat in a pita bread. Top it off with lettuce, sliced cucumbers, and tzatziki sauce.
Then, enjoy your beef gyros!
