One of my favorite summer activities, when I was a kid, was making ice cream. We would fill the ice cream maker with ice and chop up our favorite candy for the ice cream.
Ever since my sisters moved in with me, we have been doing more and more traditional stuff. When spring came around, I knew we had to make our own ice cream. Unfortunately, I do not have an ice cream maker, so I decided to try a no-churn option.
Courtney and I decided to test out a no-churn strawberry ice cream – perfect for spring! If you want to make ice cream at home without a machine, this is the recipe for you!
Ingredients
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups of heavy whipping cream
1 lb fresh strawberries, mashed
Red food coloring
Directions
1. Mash together the strawberries in a bowl. Put some aside to decorate with later.
2. In a separate bowl, add all the ingredients and mix together with a stand mixer or a hand mixer.
3. Whip the mixture on medium and slowly speed it up until it stiffs and thickens
4. Put the mashed strawberries into the mixture and then pour into a freezer safe container and place into freezer for 4-5 hours.
I loved this so much – and I really want to try to make a peach version! What is your favorite homemade ice cream?
