I live in a very Central part of Texas, so everything is about two hours away. When I take vacation time, it is easy to drive down to Austin for the day (and there are so many things to do in Austin I would spend a lifetime trying to do them all).
However, I know many people aren’t as lucky. So what do you do with a three or four day weekend without spending an arm and leg?

I love a great staycation, but if you don’t do something fun or relaxing – they can be so draining. I am only three years in my career, so I am still pretty tied down to my job. It is hard to take some time off – and when I do, I never know what to do with my time.
Sometimes, I just don’t have it in me to drive 2-3 hours away for a day-trip.
