If you are from Texas (and over the age of 21), you might be a super fan of the Shiner Brewery. I know I am.
So when I started decorating my porch, I was looking for something to put as a centerpiece for my outdoor coffee table. I immediately wanted to use succulents – but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to arrange them.
During this time, it was also when my favorite seasonal brew was out – Strawberry Blonde. After scrolling through Pinterest and seeing that ANYTHING can be a planter for succulents, I knew I was going to make my beer can into a planter!
YOU WILL NEED:
Your Favorite Canned Drink (or just one that is really cute)
Rock Pebbles
Potting Soil
Succulents
Can Opener
Sandpaper
INSTRUCTIONS:
The first step is to use the can opener to remove the top part of the can. You will need to be very careful so you do not cut yourself! Use the sandpaper to buff down the edges.
You will need to thoroughly clean your can. I washed mine twice with dawn soap.
Then, you will need to gather your items to plant. You will need rock pebbles, soil and succulents.
Start by layering the rock on the bottom of the can. This helps drain the water.
Then, add soil and your succulents! Be sure to water them well when you first plant them!
