If you are a frequent flyer at Repressing the Crazy, it is no surprise to you that I have anxiety. This whole blog revolved over me trying to manage my symptoms.
Also if you read this weekend’s Sunday Aesthetic, you also know I haven’t been doing extremely well these past months. After nights of tossing and turning, as well as kicking my legs, I decided to invest in a weighted blanket.
In the past, when I was having chest pains during an anxiety attack, I asked my sister to sit on my back. The pressure on my chest helped me, so I figured a weighted blanket would do the same.
After doing a lot of research, I ended up spending $100 on a weighted duvet and cover on Amazon. The blanket from Weighted Idea is affordable, and the design is extremely comfortable. Plus, you can use the liner only if it is too hot.
SO HOW DO I FEEL?
Ever since I got the blanket, I don’t sleep with anything else. If I am having a bad day, Ill bunch the blanket up and put it on my chest, and it gives me some relief.
I also can’t kick all night like I used to because the blanket holds my legs down. Since the new blanket, I can honestly stay I have slept solidly throughout the night (unless Fiona steps on my head)
I ended up getting 15 pounds for my body weight and the 60′ x 80′ size. It fits about half of my king-sized bed.
IS IT PORTABLE?
Yes and no. Yes, you can bring it where ever you go in the house or in a car, but it is heavy, so I don’t recommend bringing it on a plane.
However, I got the size that is similar to a throw, so I will bring it to the living room for movie nights, and I also bring it when I stay over at other places.
Also, I have to force the pups off of it.
Have you ever tried a weighted blanket?
