Okay, so I have been more excited about my dogs’ costume this year than my own. After a discussion at work, I had the craziest idea – what if I dressed my dogs up as Chip and Joanna Gaines for Halloween.
I live in Waco, TX – home of the Fixer Upper franchise. Effects of the famed HGTV show are all over town – from the Silos to the revitalization of downtown. I figured I would pay homage to the people who gave me all of my favorite dinner spots by dressing my doggies as them.
The costumes are so easy. I bought most of my supplies on Amazon.
I started by measuring both of my dogs to see what size of youth shirts to buy them. I ending up buying Schmidt a size 10 youth and Fiona a size 6 youth.
Schmidt would be going as Chip Gaines, so I bought him a demo day shirt and a child’s tool belt. The tool belt ended up being to small, so we just hung it on his neck.
Fiona would be going as Joanna Gaines, and we wanted to make her costume super farmhousey – so we ended up buying her a denim shirt to go over her shiplap shirt.
The results were, well, adorable.
Did you dress your pet up for Halloween?
