When I get on Pinterest and Instagram, everyone is always talking about matte products. Matte foundation, matte lips, matte nails – you can make everything matte. But what about us dry skin girls that can’t get too deep into the matte product line without looking like an alligator?
I personally love a natural dewy look with a slight tan to it. For the last few months, I have been trying to find the right products to get it right.
It’s so weird to be talking about makeup on my blog since I have transitioned into more home and lifestyle topics, but I honestly have just been digging my look.
So where do I start? Skincare.
Before I even begin to talk about makeup, I have to talk about a skincare regimine that keeps your skin soft and patch free.
I have very dry skin, so I highly recommend cleanising your skin with either the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm or Oil. This product cleans your face without striping away natural oils.
I use serums and eye creams and the lot – but when I am too tired to go through the entire thing, I rely on Olay Regenerist Whip cream. I love this because it smells great, it’s lightweight and it really kicks my skin into high gear.
If you do nothing but use those two products, you will be in good shape. I also want to mention nothing in this article is sponsored, but I do use affiliate links.
The products genuinely have worked miracles for me, and I wanted to share them with everyone.
The Tan
You want perfect skin, but you also want that hint of color that makes it looks like you live on the beach.
I have been using the Bondi Sands Self Tanning Liquid Gold Dry-Oil Spray. I just spray it all over my skin and rub it in with a tanning mitt.
You can put your clothes on right after, and the smell is not terrible.
The Makeup
On a typical day, I use 5 makeup products to achieve my look.
I start with using the Anastasia DipBrow Pomade. I have been using this for years, and I never leave the house without it.
Then, I apply concealer to my eyes and under eye. I have very veiny eyelids and dark circles, so this is a must for me. My tried and true concealers is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
With this look, I like really fluttery eyelashes. I personally use the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara.
Now to the prize product: BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer. This stuff has been a game changer. If you only use one product out of the entire list, this is the one.
I finish off the look by dusting my cheekbones with Hoola Bronzer.
And then bam! Instagram worthy shots to follow:
