I have been a bridesmaid twice in my life, and I have helped give advice on what to add to registries each time.
With my latest bride, she came to me because she did not know what to add to her wedding registry because her and her fiance already had a ton of the basics, and she could not imagine what else she would need.
And that’s when I told her, the keyword you just said is “basics”. A wedding registry is a time to go beyond the basics.
Now, I have not been a bride, but I do love things. Obviously, I became a blogger because I love talking about my favorite things that I have bought and/or made. I started firing options at her to add – like a mixer, a robot vacuum, a new plate set, etc.
She would return with – I already have plates or isn’t that a little “extra”.
BOTTOM LINE: This is your wedding. This YOUR TIME to be a little EXTRA.
So if you are creating your first wedding registry, here are some things to keep in mind:

Pick the right store
You will also want to pick a store that is everywhere so that out of town guests can purchase gifts. But if you want to pick a store that is local for your registry, be sure to also register at a larger store.
If you are having a large wedding, chances are there will be all sorts of people with different budgets. You will want to pick a store that can encompass all of your guests’ needs.
Finally, you will want to pick a store with a great return policy. For example, my first bride was able to return curtains and bedding at Bed Bath and Beyond months after her wedding.
Pick items that will last a lifetime
When you are picking out registry items, it is important to pick items you trust or have warranties. Brands that have good reputations will likely produce products that will last for years.
For example, Calphalon® is the only brand I have ever bought pots and pans from. I received my first Calphalon® frying pan when I was in college, and I still use it weekly about 6 years later.
Calphalon® is a premier brand that has been proven to produce items that are durable, high quality and innovative.

Make sure you have space for it!
Although you can be a little extra when creating your registry, make sure you will have space for your new things!
If you are going to get rid of things to make more space, that is great. You can also look for space-saving items if you are in a pinch to save some space.
The Calphalon® Premier™ Space Saving Cookware Set is a great option if you are looking to open up space in your kitchen! It saves around 30% more space than like non-stacking Calphalon® Cookware items. You can stack & nest items with the same diameter in any order.
Replace outdated, broken items
If you have items that have been loved a little too much, put a replacement item on the registry.
This is a great time to refresh your towels, sheets or pillows. Also, remember that you can get replacements for mismatched items – like your silverware or knife set.
