This year, I am celebrating myself for Valentine’s Day with this super simple outfit with a pop of red and a whole lot of depth underneath it all.
I just want to say I love me – and that’s what I am trying to convey with my Valentine’s Day outfit.
Personally, I have had a really rough two years with mental health, insecurity and just finding any ounce of happiness. This Valentine’s Day, I am saying I love you, Taylor – despite everything that you have done, despite every negative thought you have about yourself.
I love so many people unconditionally, but I have been unable to do that to myself for so long. The amount of anguish I put myself through as I pick apart every single move that I make has been exhausting.
And time and time again, I say I am going to stop – but I don’t. But this time around, I really mean it.
Sorry to get so deep in a post about an outfit – I just think fashion can really help tell the story you are feeling on the inside. And let’s just say, there is a lot of feeling happening behind this smiling face and great hair.
But now on to the nitty gritty:
The Outfit
Full disclosure, this is my first bodysuit ever (yes, I am embarrassed to admit that). While I love this one from Free People, I am adjusting to the thong-style bottom clasp and the whole, you are in a baby-onesie concept.
I have to admit that I love the smooth tuck with the bodysuit, aside from all the other issues.
I paired this with some ripped jeans, sleek black heels, and little thick hoop earrings.
The makeup and hair
As for my makeup, I kept it very simple. I used Anastasia DipBrow for my eyebrows to fill them in.
Then I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer all over my lid and under the eye. I also applied it to any red spots on my face.
I used the Benefit Hoola Bronzer for my crease eye shadow, my bottom liner and my top liner. As for the lining, keep it very light. I used a skin color eye shadow to tap on the lid. Then, I used a lengthening mascara from iT Cosmetics to my eyelashes. I added a thin line of eyeliner as well.
As for my face, I wanted to keep everything very light. I pumped one dot of the Milani Conceal + Perfect Foundation onto a buffing brush and dotted and blended it all over my face.
Then, I applied a light layer of the Hoola Bronzer all over my cheeks, neck and forehead. Using a contour palette from Morphie, I added depth and highlights to my cheekbones and nose.
Then a put a little pink lipstick from Clinique to finish out my look!
For my hair, I used a 2-inch curling iron and a ton or texturizing spray.
