Weird fact about me: I have had a Butterbeer at the Warner Brother Studios in London, but not at Universal Studios in Florida. It’s weird because I am American.
I grew up on the Harry Potter series. I read my first Harry Potter book in the first grade, and I kept up with the series until the end. Originally, the movies even came out around my birthday, so every birthday party was focused on Harry Potter.
When the last movie was released my senior year of high school, I genuinely cried in the parking lot for 15 minutes. Then, when I was 20 years old in London, I cried when I walked into the studio.
Yes, I am that person. I also have a tattoo of the deathly hallows on my ankle.
So, I have no explanation on why I this is my first time to try to create an alcoholic Butterbeer at home. I guess I always thought it was too difficult. I literally do not have an answer for you on this one.
However, this was not hard. It took about two shakes to get the whole drink down – and yes, it tastes like liquidized butterscotches.
My suggestion to you is to throw a Harry Potter party, drink these and cry in your own Harry Potter memories.
